A bake sale at Preston’s Roccia showroom, has helped gym strength coach Tom Hulme raise £5,779 for Rosemere Cancer Foundation in memory of a family friend.
Lancashire Constabulary’s Inspector Bilal ‘Bill’ Mulla, lost his long and hard fought battle with cancer in May 2021.
Tom who works at Ashton’s Fitcess Gym, walked the Yorkshire Three Peaks in August with his brother Jake. It took them nine hours, 45 minutes, which earned Tom, whose ambition is to collect a ‘World’s Strongest Man’ title within the next five years, £3,893 in sponsorship.

He then received a further £1,886 from Roccia, which sells tiles and high end bathrooms and kitchens from its Queen Street premises, via its charitable arm the Roccia Foundation.
This money came from the bake sale, which raised £943. The sale was enjoyed by staff, who home-baked and donated pre-baked cakes, customers and suppliers.
The amount was then match funded by the Roccia Foundation in tribute to Insp Mulla, whose brother Rahil Mulla is the company’s showroom manager.
Tom said: “I am very grateful to Roccia and everyone who supported my Three Peaks challenge. It was tough as it required a very different sort of fitness from the fitness I am used to at the gym but I wanted to pay my respects to Bill, who was a true gentlemen.”
