Stormtroopers were raising money

Stormtroopers descended onto the car park at Deepdale Retail Park to help raise money for a Firefighters Charity fundraiser.

Kelly McHugh is fundraising for The Firefighters Charity after the charity has had a difficult year.

She decided to walk 100km across the Sahara Desert over a five day period to raise money for the charity, who help and support fire personnel, whether they are ill, injured or need psychological support.

She wrote: “Not only have the fire service continued their everyday role, putting their own lives at risk to save others but have stepped up to support the NHS with the vaccine roll out, helping to get life back to some sort of ‘normality’.”

So far, Kelly has raised £2,490, which has surpassed her original target.
