Tesco in Church Street forced to close due to leak

A city centre mini-supermarket has closed as a result of a leak which happened in a neighbouring property.

Work is currently taking place to get the Tesco Express in Church Street back open.

The work to fix the leak however could take up to several weeks, meaning the store will be closed temporarily until the repair is completed.

All staff from the Tesco Express store on Church Street have been deployed to other local stores in the meantime – the supermarket chain confirmed.

The store has been closed since Friday 22 May.

A Tesco spokesperson told Blog Preston: “We will keep the local community updated and we’re sorry for any inconvenience caused. Our nearest Express store is less than half a mile away on Friargate.”
