Winckley Street pubs and bars first weekend back as restrictions eased

Winckley Street had a great atmosphere

After being shut for many months, Blog Preston asked local businesses what the past week of ‘normality’ has been like for them.

Lonely People cocktail bar on Winckley Street had a great vibe, with people enjoying the outdoor seating area and the gorgeous weather.

A spokesperson for the trendy cocktail bar said: “We had a fantastic week at Lonely People Cocktail Bar.

“Winckley Street had the most brilliant vibe, lots of energy and happy faces all round. It was great to see everyone smiling again after such a long time in lockdown.

“We were very busy with lots of bookings, and all the businesses on Winckley Street were busy too. We all worked together and created a brilliant atmosphere.

“The Winckley Ale House, Cedarwood Coffee, Forum, The Cafe Bar and Kimji all provided outdoor seating the street has now become a very popular destination with an ‘Al Fresco’ feel.

“Some customers even said they felt like they were on holiday!”

Forum on Winckley Street said their reopening had also been very successful, after months of being closed.

A spokesperson for Forum said: “It’s been a great first week, we’ve been busy every day, better than we could have hoped for.

“The good weather has really helped, not only to allow people to sit outside, but it’s also helped create a really great vibe on Winckley Street.”
