Police warn residents to lock up after Mercedes stolen from Longton

Police are appealing for help to trace two males in connection with a burglary in Longton.

The males were seen trying cars and front doors at around 4am today (Saturday 24 April) in the A59, Fieldings Close and Bridgeview Close area.

They are suspected of theft from a vehicle, and stealing a black Mercedes A Class, registration number PL69OKW. The car has since been seen in the Leyland area.

A spokesperson for South Ribble Police said: “Two males have been seen on bikes wearing black hooded jackets.

“One male had a grey hoody hanging off the handlebars of his bike.

“If anyone has anything on CCTV or has seen anything please contact PC 273 Davies or call 101.”

Police also reminded residents to ensure valuables are out of sight, and vehicles and houses are locked and secure.
