A trio of friends from Fulwood are challenging themselves to an intense workout to raise money for Rosemere.
Gym buddies Donna Finn, Sharron Mulvaney and Fay Morne are aiming to do 100 abs exercises every morning throughout March. These will include crunches, sit-ups, Russian twists and various planking poses.

Each day, they are choosing a different Preston landmark as their backdrop to celebrate the coming of spring to the city.
Donna, who works for BAE in Preston, said: “We are all members of Fulwood Leisure Centre and would normally see one another in the gym or at a class. Lockdown means the centre is closed so we have been meeting up on alternative days to go running.

“In a fit of March madness, we decided to help Rosemere Cancer Foundation by doing something that will take us completely out of our comfort zone.
“We decided to choose different landmarks to make each day just a bit more fun as we are using my Facebook page to keep our friends, family and work colleagues updated on how we are getting on.”

Donna, who is also a Rosemere Cancer Foundation volunteer, added: “Sharron is in charge of which abs exercise we do each day, Fay is the sergeant major who keeps us going and I pick the landmarks so suggestions gratefully received as I am trying to come up with an alphabetical list!”

Although they haven’t set a target amount they want to raise, Donna, social worker Sharron and Fay, who works for health provider Virgin Care as a healthy family practitioner, have set up an online fundraising page here.
