Lancashire Fire Service have reassured residents that smoke or fire engines in the vicinity are part of a ‘controlled burn’ taking place on Longridge Fell.

Smoke from the fell may come a matter of concern for any residents after a fire broke out in May last year, resulting in Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service battling the blaze.

However it will be a relief to Longridge residents knowing the fire service are carrying out an exercise and have the blaze under control this year.
