Penwortham flyover has now fully reopened after two car collision on Wednesday morning

A serious incident occurred at 7:33am this morning at Penwortham flyover, A59 Guild Way.

The Penwortham flyover has now fully reopened following the earlier collision.

The road had been closed for hours whilst all the emergency services attended the scene.

Preston Police said: “Thank you for your patience and understanding while emergency services and highways teams attended the incident.”

Lancashire Fire and Rescue service released a statement earlier about the RTC:

“At 07:33 on 9 December, two fire engines from Preston and Penwortham attended a road traffic collision located on Guild Way, Ashton on Ribble, Preston.

“The incident involved several vehicles. Casualties were treated by the fire service and left in the care of NWAS personnel. Fire crews used a hearth kit and were in attendance for thirty minutes.”
