Peppa Pig, Spiderman, Skye and Marshall from Paw Patrol, Pikachu, and a Minion joined forces in and around Ribbleton today (Monday 26 October) to collect food donations for children in need.
The children’s favourites started at Smart Fitness in Campbell Street before visiting Top Cafe, Moor Nook Spar, Greenlands Club, Brookfield and Holme Slack shops and finishing up at Wickes.
Along the way the characters and their helpers collected donations of food and money.
The initiative was organised by Stuart Singleton as a way to support the local community after MPs voted against extending free school meals for vulnerable children during the holidays.

In a Facebook post, Stuart said: “What a brilliant day. We have raised so much food it’s unreal – two vans full.
“I’d like to thank every single person who came to see us. It’s amazing how the community can come together so well to help out.
“We are going to sort through all the food tonight and deliver to food banks tomorrow. Any cash donations will be turned into food as well.
“Can’t thank everyone enough.”
