Preston is set to be hit with heavy storms again after the Met office have released a yellow weather warning.

The North West is likely to see torrential rain from midday on Friday (June 26) until 9am Saturday morning (June 27).

Houses could suffer flooding; travel could be disrupted and some areas may suffer with power cuts during the storm.

A spokesperson said: “Heavy showers and thunderstorms are likely to break out on Friday afternoon and evening.

“Many places will miss the storms, but where they do occur, torrential downpours could bring 30-50 mm rain in an hour, with hail and lightning.”

There are no further weather warnings for the rest of the week.
