Preston and Lancashire told to brace for Saturday afternoon thunderstorms

Despite Saturday turning bright and sunny a weather warning is in force for Preston and Lancashire.

The Met Office has a yellow weather warning, its lowest level, in place until 7pm on Saturday (13 June).

Forecasters are warning the sunshine will give way to heavy showers and thunderstorms.

Driving conditions are due to become difficult due to sudden downpours and other travel and power disruption could take place.
