A new development of 70 homes in Coupe Green has been given the go-ahead.

Developers Vistry Partnerships has done a deal to acquire the site following a successful planning appeal.

The Olive Farm scheme will be located north of Methuen Drive, Hoghton.

It will see a mix of three and four-bedroom homes developed for open market sale under the Linden Homes brand, along with two and three-bedroom homes for affordable rent and shared ownership. A housing association will be involved to help ensure the new homes are affordable.

A spokesperson for Vistry Partnerships North West, said: “We are delighted to have completed the purchase of the site and to have secured planning permission for these homes.

“The development will create high quality, family homes, with a good mix of sizes and tenures enabling local people to find the right home for them.

“We have a proven track record in building attractive, modern homes across the North West, including within South Ribble, and we look forward to delivering another successful scheme for the community.”

Built as a variety of semi-detached and detached buildings, each dwelling will have access to dedicated parking spaces and a private garden at the rear.

Work should start in the coming months, with the new homes expected to be available in winter this year.
