Winckley Square restaurant 263 has been awarded two AA Rosettes just four months after opening.
AdvertisementIt means Mark O’Rourke’s fine dining restaurant is the only spot within eight miles of Preston to boast this level of culinary excellence – and it’s one of just eight in the whole of Lancashire.
Mark, who won Multiple Retailer of the Year award at the 2019 Preston Smiles Better Awards, said: “It’s fantastic we have been awarded two AA Rosettes. It was a huge surprise to find that we had been inspected.
“We were not sure if this sort of food was going to work in Preston city centre, but people have really enjoyed what we offer.
“Head chef Charlie Yates and his team in the kitchen have worked very hard to get where we are now.
“We hope to improve our rating the next time inspectors come and visit us.”
263, which is located in The Winckley Square Hotel, serves a three-course menu for £25 and a five-course tasting menu for £40 at lunchtime. In the evening, the three-course menu is £35 and there’s a seven-course tasting menu for £60.
