Preston city centre will be alive with light and sound during Friday evening for Brief Encounter.

Preston City Council has confirmed which roads will be closed for the mini version of Lancashire Encounter, which will feature three installations on display from 6pm to 10pm on Friday 20 September.

The following roads are to be closed between 5.30pm and 10.30pm:

• Cheapside
• Market Street
• Earl Street
• Harris Street
• Birley Street (from its junction with Harris Street to its junction with Earl Street)

Diversion routes:

• Glover’s Court
• Syke Street
• Avenham Lane
• Queen Street
• Stanley Street
• Ring Way
• North Road
• Tithebarn Street
• Old Vicarage in that direction only
