The Met Office has issued weather warnings as heavy rain and high winds are expected in the coming days.

A yellow warning for rain is in place for Friday (August 9) with travel disruption and heavy downpours predicted.

There is a small chance of flooding to some areas and residents are advised to allow extra time for journeys as spray and flooding may lead to difficult conditions on the road and rail networks.

On Saturday high winds are expected across the region causing disruption for outdoor events and creating a risk of falling branches and debris.

Some transport may again be affected, including high sided vehicles travelling on exposed routes.
