A picnic bench has been torched by vandals in Fulwood.

Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service put out the fire in Highgate Woods during Saturday (25 May).

One of the two benches was burnt to a cinder in the woods off Garstang Road.

Traffic cones were also seen floating in the pond during the vandalism.

One nearby resident branded it ‘moronic behaviour’ and said there was so much smoke coming from the woods they thought a house on a nearby road was on fire.
