Part of a Preston city centre road alongside the Bus Station is to be closed.
Tithebarn Street from the junction with Old Vicarage to Lord Street is to have access restricted.
Lancashire County Council says it is due to work ongoing to create the new public square and urban park on the Bus Station’s western apron.
Tithebarn Street itself is to see wider pavements, new paving, new lighting and new crossings.
The county council says deliveries will still be possible for local firms in the area and the temporary bollards in Lancaster Road, opposite the market, are being removed during the work to allow for bus access.
The closure starts on Tuesday 7 May and will run until the Autumn.
