Proposals for major new flood defences along the River Ribble have been showcased.
Broadgate and Penwortham residents were given the opportunity to see the £40million plans from the Environment Agency.
Under clear blue skies and a lovely sunset by the river the plans were pored over.
Chris Hough, who lives nearby and went along, said: “The height of the board they had displayed is the height they are proposing the flood defences need to be when they do the work.
“They showed us where the water reached during the Boxing Day floods of 2015 and that was the highest it had been for a long time.
“A fair few designs and they said they still haven’t decided exactly how it will look.”
The blue line in the picture above shows where the water reached in December 2015.
