Learning flower arranging skills while sipping a cocktail is to take place in Preston city centre.
Two friends from the city are bringing their workshops with a difference to Preston.
Elia bar, in the basement of Olive Tree Bar and Brasserie, is to play host to Made Do Drink.
The brainchild of Nicola Darwen and Helen Brady it gives people the chance to try doing something different in a relaxed environment.
Helen said: “We have both grown up in Preston, moved away, and are now back living in Preston city centre. Having had the choice of events and activities that bigger cities can offer, we want to help bring a slice
of that to our doorstep.
“You shouldn’t have to get on a train to find something a little quirky or different. Preston is on the up, we have seen the change creeping in over the past two or three years; there are more bars, more restaurants, more choice than ever before.
“We want to link up these great venues, with great makers, to deliver great events.”
Nicola, who has spent a decade as a graphic designer working with the likes of British Airways, Coca-Cola and Cunard, said: “It is well reported that consumers are spending more and more on experiences and activities.
“People like getting out there with friends and family and doing something – Make Do Drink is all about that! We are taking inspiration from the bigger cities around us like Manchester and Liverpool and bringing these influences back to our own city centre.”
