A slimmers’ club has been forced to move out of Kingsfold after youths terrorised the group.
Julie Naylor has run the Slimming World group at Penwortham Community Centre in Kingsfold Drive for three years, but says she can no longer stay after her tyres were slashed while she held a meeting.
Now the meeting, which was on a Monday evening, has moved to St Theresa’s in Queensway on Tuesday – with some members unable to continue going to the club.
Julie said: “The Kingsfold group had been running for years, and I have run it for three years, but it has been really bad for anti-social behaviour there lately.
“We’ve had youths running in and out with their hoods up, opening fire doors, being abusive to members of the group – when my tyres got slashed it was the final straw. Realising they are carrying knives, I didn’t feel safe.
“I’m devastated it has come to this. As a group we’re upset. Some members have commitments on a Tuesday and can’t come and I have lost members who have been with me for years.
“I’m relieved too though – I could feel something was changing round there, the atmosphere and the behaviour. They just don’t care.”
