Roads in Fishwick are to be closed during Sunday afternoon for a Muslim procession.
The annual religious procession marks the first month of the Islamic calendar for Shia Muslims.
The procession sees men strip topless, and can feature flagellation, and follow the procession route to the mosque for Muharram.
Preston City Council says the following road closures will be in place from 2pm to 5pm on Sunday (19 August).

The temporary road closures will affect Fishwick Parade, Fishwick Road and Samuel Street.
Fishwick Parade is to be shut from its junction with Fishwick Road to its junction with Samuel Street.
Fishwick Road will be closed for 50 metres north and south of Fishwick Parade.
Samuel Street will be closed from the junction with Fishwick Parade to the junction with Callon Street.

Diversions routes will be:
Fishwick Road, New Hall Lane, Waldon Street, Fishwick Parade and vice versa.
Fishwick Road, Brockholes View, Ashleigh Street, London Road, New Hall Lane and vice versa.
Samuel Street, Callon Street, Arnham Road and vice versa.
