Preston weather forecast shows the return of rain

After weeks of glorious sunshine, it was inevitable the warm weather was going to end sometime.

With low river levels, dried-out gardens and a potential hosepipe ban, some may be glad to hear that the rain has arrived.

It’s not here for long though as the week starts off wet and getting progressively drier.

Here’s a day-by-day breakdown of how the weather looks this week:

Sunday (29 July)

Morning – Make sure you have your umbrellas ready with grey clouds predicted through to midday accompanied by heavy rains.

Afternoon – Rains will lighten slightly during the afternoon but heavy rain will return around 4pm. Highs of 21 degrees.

Evening – The weather is expected to dry up around 8pm but you can expect a cloudy night.

Monday (30 July)

Morning – Sunny intervals are expected throughout the morning and light rain is predicted from 9am.

Afternoon – Heavy showers around 12pm but the rain is predicted to ease off into the afternoon. The sun tries to reappear.

Evening – The sun will shine bright from 6pm, paving the way for a pleasant evening.

Tuesday (31 July)

Morning – No rain is predicted, although Preston will see a cover of clouds. Sunny intervals from 7am.

Afternoon – Sunny intervals throughout the afternoon with highs of 20 degrees. The clouds will clear in the late afternoon.

Evening – Another pleasant evening is predicted with the sunshine remaining present until around 10pm.

Wednesday (1 August)

Morning – A day of cloud is expected, although the sun will try to break through during the morning.

Afternoon – Some sunny intervals are expected early afternoon. The clouds remain put.

Evening – More cloud for the evening, making Wednesday a very grey day indeed.

Thursday (2 August)

Morning – Sunny intervals throughout the morning with temperatures slowly rising to 20 degrees by midday.

Afternoon – A slightly warmer afternoon is predicted with highs of 21 degrees.

Evening – Clouds throughout the evening, with a chance of rain around 10pm into the night.

Friday (3 August)

Morning – Light rain predicted for the morning, from around 7am. It is predicted to dry off but it looks like a grey morning.

Afternoon – The sun tries to break through during the afternoon, so make the most of the dry weather going into the weekend.

Evening – A pleasant, dry evening remaining at 19 degrees around 7pm.

Saturday (4 August)

Morning – A few glimpses of the sun throughout the morning, accompanied by cloud.

Afternoon – Finally, the sun breaks through after 1pm and the clouds disappear for a dry and clear afternoon.

Evening – The evening will remain dry, and will be followed by a partly cloudy night.
