A man has been treated after being targeted in a suspected ‘acid attack’.
AdvertisementPreston Police were called to Ribbleton Avenue, near Ribby Lodge, at around 4.30pm on Wednesday (13 June).
Reports came in a man had been attacked with an unknown substance.
The victim, a 35-year-old man, was sat in his car when another man approached him and sprayed the substance in his face.
North West Ambulance Service attended and treated the man, who has been taken to Royal Preston Hospital for checks.
Police are continuing to search for the offender.

DI Warren Atkinson from Preston Police said: “Our investigation is underway and we are still trying to identify exactly what the substance is. The victim has been assessed by emergency services and fortunately he isn’t believed to have suffered any injuries.
“We are treating this as an isolated incident and we believe that both the victim and offender are known to each other.”
