Gang armed with machete and claw hammer attack Sainsbury’s in Deepdale

A man has been arrested after supermarket staff in Preston were targeted by a large group of men wielding weapons.

Preston Police have released pictures of a machete, claw hammer and smaller knives recovered following the incident in Deepdale.

Reports of a large group of men on the Preston North End stadium car park in Sir Tom Finney Way came in late on Wednesday (27 June).

A number of the group went to the Sainsburys store in Flintoff Way and were involved in an altercation with staff at the supermarket.

A man, no details given by police, was arrested and a large machete and claw hammer were recovered among other weapons.

Anyone with information and who witnessed the group is asked to call police on 101 and quote log reference number LC-20180627-1464 or call Crimestoppers on 080055111 anonymously.
