Preston and South Ribble schools closed due to snow on Thursday 8 March

A number of schools have been closed due to the snowfall during Thursday (8 March) morning.

Lancashire County Council has confirmed the closure of four schools in Preston and 12 in South Ribble.

Acorns Primary School, Barnacre Road Primary School in Longridge, Larches High School and Sir Tom Finney Community High School have all closed in Preston for the day.

The Academy @ Worden has closed due to ‘treacherous road conditions’.

Bamber Bridge St Aidan’s Church of England Primary School, Couple Green Primary School, Leyland Methodist Infant School, Our Lady and St Gerard’s RC Primary School Lostock Hall, St Mary’s RC High School and Sports College Brownedge, The Coppice School, Wellfield High School, Whitefield Primary School and Woodlea Junior School have all closed.
