Preston snow warning for Monday and Tuesday

Preston is facing an icy blast as temperatures tumble once more.

The Met Office has issued a snow and ice warning for Preston and Lancashire.

The yellow weather warning – the lowest level – is in force from 9pm on Monday (5 February) to Tuesday (6 February).

It warns of a ‘spell of rain, sleet and increasingly snow’.

Some travel disruption is expected to road and rail journeys.

Temperatures begin to fall below freezing on Sunday (4 February) evening with lows of -3 degrees.

Monday starts bright and with temperatures struggling to get above freeing by 9am.

It falls to -3 again overnight on Monday with the snow and sleet moving in on Tuesday morning as temperatures reach only a high of three degrees on Tuesday afternoon.

Wednesday (7 February) is set to be bright but cold.
