Fog warning issued for Preston and Lancashire

Drivers are being warned to take extra care on the roads as fog falls across Preston and Lancashire.

The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for a band of freezing fog forming across the city.

Visibility is set to fall to below 100metres in many places.

The warning is in force from 7pm on Wednesday (10 January) to 11am on Thursday (11 January).

Fog will clear during Thursday morning but in some westerly areas it may persist into the afternoon.

The warning area covers the whole of the North West of England.
