Here’s what is happening with Preston Bus services during Christmas

Preston Bus has confirmed details of all its Christmas timetables for the festive period.

The Rotala operated services are to see a standard Sunday service operated on Christmas Eve (Sunday 24 December) with last buses at around 6pm on all routes.

No buses will run on Christmas Day (Monday 25 December) with a number of services resuming on Boxing Day (Tuesday 26 December).

The 6A, 8, 16, 23, 35 and 89 will run a limited ‘shoppers service’.

Throughout Wednesday 27 December, Thursday 28 December and Friday 29 December a Saturday timetable is operating on all services.

For anyone using the 35 the 11.30pm and 01.30am services will not run, and on the 31 the 12midnight and 1am services are not running either on Wednesday (27 Dec) and Thursday (28 Dec).

New Year’s services see a regular Saturday service on Saturday 30 December and on New Year’s Eve 31 December) a regular Sunday service will operate and last buses at 6pm.

No buses will run on New Year’s Day apart from the football specials of the 287 and 289.

Throughout Tuesday 2 January to Friday 5 January a Saturday service will run on the 5,6,8,12,14,16,19,23,31,35,44 and 89. All other services run a normal weekday timetable.

Everything goes back to normal on Saturday 6 January.

Additional early morning journeys

The 5,6,8,12,14,16,19,23,31,35,44 and 89 services are going to run some extra early morning buses.

What happens with the park and rides?

Park & Ride Portway / Hartington Road
Normal service until 23rd December.
24th December – 26th December – site closed.
27th December – 30th December – Saturday service – Hartington Road car park closed, service 2 (Railway Station shuttle) not operating. Please park on Portway car park and use service 89.
31st December & 1st January – site closed.
2nd January – normal service resumes. Please note service 89 operating to a Saturday timetable until 6th January.

Park & Ride Walton-le-Dale
Normal service until 23rd December.
Christmas Eve, Sunday 24th December, site OPEN – first bus leaves Walton-le-Dale at 1000, last bus leaves Jacson Street 1730. Buses operate every 15 minutes.
25th & 26th December site closed.
27th December – 30th December Saturday service.
31st December & 1st January site closed.
2nd January normal service resumes.
