A Preston woman is relaunching a Slimming World group in Ingol.
Donna Brookes was inspired to kick start the group again after her own weight loss.
Losing just over a stone in a matter of weeks Donna says it is not the weight loss which has surprised her – but the change in her attitude and well-being.
She said: ““It is widely acknowledged the need in these hectic times for adults to take some time out to think about their own health and wellbeing.
“As we all know at Slimming World, taking the time to pause and reflect and spend a little ‘me time’ is good for you! Because, after all, there is only one you – and it’s never too late to
start making small changes.
“A few new healthy habits and choices could be all it takes to live a longer, healthier and happier life. For me, it wasn’t just the weight loss, it was noticing the massive improvement in my mental wellbeing and self-esteem which was a very positive surprising side-effect to joining Slimming World.”
The Ingol group is running on Mondays at 5.30pm and 7.30pm in St Margaret’s Church Hall.

The group is being relaunched ahead of World Mental Health Day.
Donna said: “While being a healthy weight is an important part of ensuring that every adult enjoys a long and healthy life, it is of course not the only aspect of health that we need to think about – our mental health, quitting smoking, reducing the amount that we drink, sleeping better and being more active are all essential to great health and wellbeing.”
