Preston and Lancashire is being warned about a wet and wild start to October.

The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning – its lowest warning level – about the rain forecast for Sunday and Monday.

Spells of heavy and persistent rain are expected from first-thing Sunday (1 October) through to 6pm on Monday (2 October).

Drivers are being warned of difficult driving conditions during this period.

There’s also a ‘small chance’ of flooding and disruption to rail services.

Around 25-50mm of rain is due to fall and strong winds of gusts of 50 to 60mph are possible in more exposed areas.
