Preston and Lancashire is being warned the good weather is about to come to an abrupt end.
The Met Office has issued a warning of heavy rain throughout Monday (5 June).
The yellow weather warning is in force from 6am on Monday for 24-hours.
The chief forecaster states: “A large area of rain is expected to run across the UK through Monday and into Tuesday.
“A band of this is expected to become slow moving over parts of the highlighted area with heavy elements running through it. This has the potential to give 80 mm of rainfall in a few places during Monday.”
Localised flooding and difficult driving conditions are expected throughout Monday.
The forecast for the rest of the week sees rain clearing on Tuesday.
Wednesday is due to be overcast before sunshine and showers for the General Election on Thursday (8 June) and continuing throughout the weekend.
Temperatures are a high of 17 degrees on Friday (9 June) with a low of 14 during Tuesday and Wednesday.
