A Preston-born soap star is putting her support behind a moonlight walk for a city hospice.
Tisha Merry, who played Steph Britton in Coronation Street, takes part in the St Catherine’s Hospice event on Saturday 1 July.
Joining her will be Lucy Fallon, who plays Bethany Platt who is at the centre of a story-line involving child grooming in the soap, Katie McGylnn, who plays Sinead Tinker, Faye Brookes, who is Kate Connor and Bhavna Limbachia, a fellow Prestonian, who plays Rana Nazir.
Merry, who grew up in Preston, has regularly supported the Lostock Hall-based hospice, and is being joined by her mum Michelle Merry.
The grandfather of Tisha, Felicien Jean-Baptiste, was cared for at the hospice in 2014.

Tisha said: “I’m so excited to be part of what looks like an extremely special night and really pleased that my friends will be joining in the fun too.
“Looking at photos from previous walks you get a sense of the atmosphere and camaraderie – knowing that everyone is there for their own individual reasons, but uniting to support this amazing place. I can’t wait to experience that for myself on the night.
“Knowing that I’m doing it for my granddad, who we all still miss so much, will make it even more meaningful. He was looked after so well by the team at St Catherine’s, and that care extended to us all.
The walk takes place from 10pm on the night and Tisha said she and her Corrie pals are happy to sign autographs and have pictures taken with walkers ahead of the event.
There are still places available for the mass walking event, you can register via the St Catherine’s website.
You can also sponsor Tisha for her walk via a Justgiving page.
