An arson investigation has been launched following a fire at an abandoned pub on the Deepdale and Ribbleton border.

Four fire engines were called to the former Old England Pub pub on the junction of Ribbleton Lane near the West View Leisure Centre.

Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service said they had initial reports of people being in the building but no one was there when they arrived.

Firefighters put out the fire at 3.20am on Saturday (14 January) and said it appeared to have been started deliberately.
