After opening in Chorley, Latch has now opened it’s second bar in Preston. Latch is a small but sophisticated microbar with extravagant cocktails, food platters, Slattery’s cakes and soulful music!

Our plan for the evening was food at Turtle Bay and then onto Latch to check it out! I’d spotted on Twitter that if we went into Latch with a local restaurant receipt, we’d get 50% off our first round of drinks! Fantastic!

So… six of us wandered down to Latch on Guildhall street… Walked in and found out I’d won the Facebook competition for VIP table service, and a bottle of prosecco (which I exchanged for two cocktails!) too! Lucky me! So cocktails ordered, two free competition cocktails and 50 per cent off a round for all of us with the receipt offer! They offered to make a cocktail that wasn’t on the menu, but with the variety and choice of cocktails available, there was no need.

My first choice – an almond mocha made with kahlua, Mozart dark chocolate, amaretto and almond milk! Mmmmm!

If you’re a beer drinker, there’s not a massive choice but Latch doesn’t claim to be a place to go for beer, and as a champagne and cocktail bar, that’s exactly what it is!

Some of the other cocktails we tried on the evening were bubblegum mojito, silver fox, blue sky, boston side car,  cucumber cooler and espresso martini. Delicious! The espresso martini wasn’t quite sweet enough for me but that was sorted straight away so all you need to do is ask!

The waitress service was brilliant, friendly, helpful and we were definitely treated like VIP’s as we were also brought some gourmet shots and some Slattery’s cakes plus 20% off all our cocktails for the rest of the evening!!!! Amazing! Luckily we hadn’t had dessert as the cakes were scrumptious, especially the strawberry one, but made by Slatterys, it’s what you’d expect.

If you love cocktails and cake (like me ? ) then Latch is a must and a great addition to Preston! You never know, if they’re still feeling generous, you might get a nice surprise too!

I’m looking forward to trying their freak shakes, coffee and more Slattery’s cakes during the day too!
