A yellow weather warning has been issued for Lancashire that could see more heavy rain and thunder return to Preston.
Tuesday evening saw the area hit by vivid thunderstorms that could return from very early Friday morning.
The Met Office chief forecaster said: “A front coming from the Atlantic will merge with warm, unstable air over the country to bring the risk of 30-40 mm in the hour in places and more than 50 mm in a few hours.
