A man has been arrested after armed police surrounded a house in St Matthews.
AdvertisementThe 30-year-old man was arrested after another man was threatened with a firearm.
Armed police carried out a ‘containment’ on Tuesday morning in Fitzgerald Street off Skeffington Road.
The threat to a 26-year-old man was made on Monday.
Chief Inspector Mike Adamson said: “I would like to reassure the public that incidents of this nature are rare and we have moved quickly to take action.
“We have arrested one man and are still at the address conducting searches. Reassurance patrols will continue once we have withdrawn from the area.”
