A car burst into flames in Deepdale on Bank Holiday Monday.

Fire crews were called to Fletcher Road after flames appeared from under the bonnet.

Preston Police closed the road while fire crews dealt with the blaze around 11.40am on Monday (30 May) close to the Howdens showroom and Gafoor halal chicken processing plant.

Video footage shows firefighters damping down the silver car.

No one is understood to have been hurt in the incident.

It is not yet known what the cause of the fire was, but Lancashire Road Police tweeted “not turning right correctly can result in horrific damage, drive carefully.”

Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service said the cause of the fire is under investigation.
