A number of trees have come down in Winckley Square as the renovation of the grade-II Georgian area of Preston continues.
Arboricultural experts have been sawing down the trees, which are all decaying and unhealthy, ahead of the £1.2million revamp.
Ben Williams project manager at Groundwork Cheshire, Lancashire and Merseyside said: “We’d like to thank all the Square’s occupants for bearing with us during this period.
“Moving and collecting all the timber from the Gardens has caused some disturbance to the surrounding grassed areas. Over the coming days these areas will all be levelled out and re-seeded so that in a few weeks these areas will be back to normal.”
Around 19 trees have been removed from Winckley Square.
