Preston’s Christmas Lights appear to have been a quiet success this year.

Preston’s Business Improvement District have ploughed £125,000 during the last two years into a stronger Christmas lights display.
This year the switch on event was moved from the Flag Market to Fishergate and the main shopping street has far more festive focus than in previous years.
A video released by BID has a number of city centre traders, who fund the organisation through a levy on their business rates, saying the Christmas decorations have been getting a positive response from shoppers.
