The Met Office has issued a yellow warning for ice on the roads in Lancashire.
AdvertisementPlummeting temperatures saw spells of snow and sleet hit Preston on Friday evening.
Roads will have been gritted overnight but drivers are still advised to take care and leave plenty of time for travelling.
The chief forecaster for the Met Office said: “A band of rain, sleet and snow moving through the area overnight will lead to a local covering of snow, mainly on high ground.
“However, with temperatures falling quickly below zero on the roads, ice will be the main hazard.”
The warning is currently in place from 3am until 10am on Saturday morning.
