Indian Express was a big winner at the English Curry Awards 2015.

The Fylde Road takeaway won three awards despite only being open since 2012.

Chef Jamie Palmer took home the awards for best takeaway in the North West, best chef in the North West and the best chef in England.

Judges visited each of the nominations to help decide the winners. Spice King, on Ronaldsway, also made it to the final.

Jamie, chef at Indian Express, said: “I was so pleased because I wasn’t sure how we’d do. It was very unexpected to win the national chef award because there are so many talented chefs across the country, so for me personally it’s incredible.

“I knew we had a chance as we’d been working really hard but the competition is always very tough so we’re delighted to come away as winners for the north west. Hopefully, now we can go into the British Curry Awards and do well again but our main focus is just to keep up the high standards we have set ourselves.”
