A Preston pub is set for a major refurbishment ahead of re-opening in the Spring.

The Hunters becomes what was the Welcome Inn on Hennel Lane in Lostock Hall.

Thwaites Brewery and Fayre Table are redeveloping the pub and hope to create up to 25 jobs.

Manager Paul Bloomer said: “The site of The Hunters has been a popular pub and eating place for locals and those travelling from a little further afield for many years.

“But more recently it has been a little unloved and in desperate need of some tender loving care.

“Hence the need for some sensitive rennovation involving an experienced team of builders, designers and decorators.”

More than £500,000 is being invested in refitting the pub, and it will have a new food menu on launch.

A provisional opening date of Saturday 14 March has been given.
