A community group who provide a vital link between many different groups in Preston is receiving emergency funding from Preston City Council.
AdvertisementPreston Community Network are there to give a voice to volunteer groups in the city including Preston’s Faith Forum and Older People’s Forum.
Up to 36 meetings a year will now be able to take place across the city thanks to £12,000 of council funding.
The PCN say they are going to spend the bulk of the funding on an administrative post to organise the meetings.
A report given to cabinet member for resources, councillor Martyn Rawlinson, who made the decision, states: “While this financial support will enable the Network to continue with its work for the next 12 months, this is a ‘one off’ payment. There are no further resources in the budget to continue to support the network.”
The full council decision is available to view on the council website.
