Street entertainers from giant Lego men to a meerkat riding a camel are coming to Preston on Saturday.
AdvertisementFinal preparations are being made for Bank Holiday festival Prestfest.
The three day event sees city centres nightlife businesses putting on a show for visitors – from special offers to ghost tours.
Animatronics and LED light artists will be roaming the streets on Saturday from 9pm to 12midnight to entertain revellers.
Jessica Toomey, chair of Preston by Night and operator of the Frog & Bucket Comedy Club said it would be the biggest bank holiday weekend party Preston has ever seen.
She said: “This is the third time Prestfest will have hit the streets of Preston and we have no doubt this will be the biggest and best. The aim of the event is to create a unique experience which people will remember and encourage them to come back to enjoy a fun and safe night out in Preston.
“We have already seen people coming from all over the North West and beyond because of the success of previous events. This time we have more businesses backing us and more offers being made than ever before, so we know Preston’s night-time economy is backing us.”
As part of the festival visitors to the city centre will have the chance to win £50 in 20 participating venues.
The £50 of Preston Pounds can be redeemed in city centre venues.
Between 9pm and midnight radio presenters Danny Bee and Luke Marsden visit the 20 venues to seek out some winners.
Also on the Friday Simon Entwistle starts a tour from 8pm at the Cenotaph to uncover quirky fact about the city centre.
