Preston has sweltered in plus 20 degree temperatures since Friday as summer appears to have arrived.

The Ribble looked cool and inviting (although don’t try it) with the blue skies overhead, and the bridges crossing it also looked magnificent.
The Ribble has been a popular spot for anyone with a camera, as Beth Furbey showed in this picture.

But it was anything but peaceful as a power boat went whizzing down the Ribble, snapped by Paul McNeil.
