Overnight closures are to take place on the M6 at Junction 32 from Friday evening.

Re-waterproofing work on the bridge carrying the motorway over Whittingham Lane at Broughton was disrupted in March due to bad weather.

The Highways Agency are undertaking the £150,000 project which will see overnight closures on the northbound carriageway between junction 32 and junction 33 at Lancaster South from 10pm to 6am on Friday 25 April, Saturday 26 April and Sunday 27 April.

An Agency spokesman said: “The northbound section of the bridge structure is leaking and requires new waterproofing treatment to protect structural elements such as the main bridge beams.”

Anyone coming off the M55 and wanting to head north on the M6 is going to have to use the A6 up to Junction 33.

The same goes for anyone on the M6 and coming North, they will be taken off at 32 and head up the A6 and rejoin at 33.
