Headteacher Shaun Jukes had to shut the school on Monday while repair work was finished.

He said: “The school suffered a significant act of vandalism on Friday evening when a number of slates were thrown from the roof and through skylights.

“We were swiftly supported by staff from the property section at Lancashire County Council and work was done over the weekend to put the damage right.

“We closed the school on Monday as a precaution so we could finish off the repair work and make sure that everything was absolutely safe for our pupils to return.

“School life is now back to normal.”
