Good luck to high flying Preston North End tonight as they face Nottingham Forest in the FA Cup fourth round.

It will be a tough test for PNE who are currently sitting pretty at fourth in the Sky Bet League One and in a play-off place.

On the Preston North End FC website Manager Simon Grayson was quoted as saying: “They (Forest) are a very good team. They beat West Ham in the last round and we know it will be a tough test.

“This will be an even bigger yardstick of where we are than our previous games against Championship clubs this season, because Forest are flying at the minute.”

Championship side Forest, also in a play-off place, are on a ten match unbeaten run. They beat the Premier League club 5-0 in the last round and are touted as hot favourites to win tonight. But Grayson thinks they will not be taking the threat of the Lilywhites lightly.

Ex Preston footballer and BBC Sport’s football expert Mark Lawrenson said: “It is great to see Preston on a bit of a run in the FA Cup and I am sure quite a few fans will be at the City Ground because Preston have sorted it out….a great gesture by the club.

“Preston were my first club and I still watch them regularly, so I would love to back them to make the fifth round. But I cannot see it happening. Forest boss Billy Davies is up against his old team and he will make sure he picks a strong enough team to win.”

Lawro predicts a 2-0 win for Nottingham Forest.

North End offered supporters a £20 package which includes a ticket to the match and coach travel to the ground (leaving Deepdale earlier at 4pm not 4.30pm).

The match at the City Ground kicks off at 8p with coverage from BBC Radio 5 live and local BBC radio.

Preston have won the FA Cup twice – in 1889 and 1938 – and have been runners-up on five occasions.

PNE home matchday tickets can be bought in store, by calling 0844 856 1966 or by visiting MyPNE.com at any time.
