Umberto’s was devastated by a fire in August but customers will be back inside from tomorrow.

The fire started in the basement of the building on Watery Lane before spreading through the restaurant and up into the flat above.

Umberto’s has been operating since 1973 and is operated by Umberto Frediani.

He told the Lancashire Evening Post last month the fire came close to finishing his career completely.

It is still not known how the fire started.

Customers will be able to enjoy Umberto’s £1.50 lunchtime special once more.
