The exclusive Gazelle Group asked Preston’s College to join them together with some of the UK’s brightest business brains to nurture the next generation of entrepreneurs.
Only 20 colleges are chosen in the whole of the UK, a very select group that Preston’s College is now a part.
The college is committed to giving their students a truly entrepreneurial mindset and enterprising skills to help their business careers flourish.
The Gazelle Colleges Group, formed in January 2012, aims to transform further education for a changing world of work by developing innovative new learning models and new partnerships with business.
Helping deliver an improved outcome for students and their communities are an array of well-known entrepreneurs such as Peter Jones CBE – Dragons’ Den and Founder of Peter Jones Enterprise Academy and Claire Young from The Apprentice. Ex-Dragon Den businessmen Theo Paphitis and Doug Richard also offer insight.
Preston’s College has major ambitions and the news helps them take a large step forward to becoming one of the top ‘enterprising colleges’ in the country.
Dr Lis Smith, principal at Preston’s College, commented: “Developing entrepreneurial and enterprising skills is absolutely critical in a 21st-century economy.
“We are delighted to have been accepted to join the Gazelle group. This is an important step forward and underlines our clear intent to become one of the top ‘enterprising colleges’ in Britain.”
The college – which has recently changed its name to reflect changes at the Fulwood-based campus – is having an open evening on Thursday 24th October.
